Coronado Historic District renovation and painting
project in Phoenix, Arizona.
Dan
K. Davis began his painting career in Chicago,
Illinois. In 1981, while attending Lake County
College for Automotive Refinishing (painting), he
served his apprenticeship at Baxter-Travenol Labs (a
union shop) where he also earned his journeyman
status. Later, relocating back to his native state
of California, he "struck out on his own", painting

paint. "Those were the days." Continuing to build
his reputation and experience, he obtained his
California contractors license. He then progressed
into some of the more exclusive neighborhoods in
southern California. Dan then expanded into the
commercial area, including offices, restaurants, and
small strip malls.
In 1991, Dan decided to relocate his family out of
southern California, to Durango, Colorado. There he
continued his painting career, gaining invaluable
experience with interior/exterior stains and clear
coatings (lacquers, polyurethanes, and epoxies). He
was concentrating mostly on residential work, log
cabins, and historic preservation painting on
numerous downtown buildings.
Due to the grave illness of his father, Dan
relocated to Phoenix in 1997, where his company has
flourished. His work has included residential, HOAs,
commercial, and multi-unit projects, providing the
best in all phases of the painting trade that
encompasses wall art: Venetian plaster,
bathtub/shower resurfacing and refinishing,
and professional application of clearcoats and
stains, countertop wood refinishing (including
expert paint and stain matching).
