many examples of these rip-offs. So many times when
I am painting a neighborhood house, someone
approaches me and they say, "I thought I was getting
a good deal," or "I thought I was saving money."
Beware! These blow-and-go painters are very
prevalent.
Within each paint manufacturer's product catalogue,
there are various qualities of paint, and all
companies have products that are comparable.
Dunn-Edwards, Sherwin-Williams, etc. Prices
can range from approximately $8 to 15 dollars
per gallon, between low-end and high-end paint for
the same surface application. For example, on a
30-gallon job, pricing can range between $300 to
$450 (just for the paint). To top it off, a
blow-and-go painter can stretch 20 gallons of
paint into 30, saving another $120 to $150 dollars,
which only increases his bottom line and causes you
bitterness down the road.
